| News Release For Immediate Release Contact: Bill Jacobson 510-651-5100 x208 Solar Energy Pilot Project Planned for DCL FREMONT, CA, March 29, 2007 - DCL, a proven leading provider of supply chain solutions for companies in the technology and healthcare industries, is now taking a leadership position in "Going Green" in Silicon Valley. DCL plans to install a 76kW kilowatt pilot solar electric system onto the roof of its 53,000 square foot Fremont facility later this spring. As a testament to DCL's environmental stewardship, the system will avert the production of over 75 tons of CO2 every year. The pilot project
is projected to initially offset over 36% of the building's annual electricity
usage, with future expansion anticipated to virtually eliminate on-site electrical
consumption. System design and installation will be completed by REgrid Power
Inc of Campbell, CA, using the PowerTilt non-penetrating system available via
the Sunpower/Powerlight VAR Channel. DCL's vision is to prove the viability of solar technology as a cost-effective way to reduce operating costs, implement forward thinking energy strategies, and ultimately better serve the environment. Over time, DCL is committed to becoming a "Green Business" and integrating solar electric systems into their current and future planned facilities. Norman Tu envisions that green initiatives will have
a greater impact on the manufacturing industries than many believe. "We look
forward to seeing how "green initiatives" affect our future business
results. Since variable costs are such a large proportion of our business, we
should be prudent in exploring alternatives for reducing costs," Norman says. About DCL: REgrid Power: | |
