- DCL Prepares for Best Buy and Wal-Mart Requirements FREMONT, CA.
- Beta testing is now underway for the deployment of RFID labeling in all
DCL facilities. DCL's RFID initiative is driven by the supply chain requirements
of major retailers such as Best Buy and Wal-Mart as they move to include RFID
in all the products sold in their outlets. Cecil Flentge, Customer Service Manager,
noted that, "The differing standards at these retailers have slowed broad
adoption of a single standard. This has manufacturers questioning which standard
to include in each package." Flentge also stated, "However, we are still
prepared to move forward with the application of the RFID tag. Different standards
outlined by various major retailers will make manufacturing more complex. Each
product will need to include the appropriate technology for each retailer's requirements."
DCL clients are encouraged to check with their retail channel partners
and to let their DCL Account Manager know of future RFID requirements. DCL continues
to address advances in supply chain management as verified by the company's commitment
to this newest of technologies for retail product distribution. About
